Now that the actors’ strike is over and the team behind the fifth season of Netflix’s Stranger Things is wasting no time getting back to work. The long-awaited final season could begin filming next week.
David Harbour, who plays beloved police chief Jim Hopper, was excited and felt like he needed to get back to work right away. The most important thing he said was that work on Season 5 could start again in “a couple of days.”
He said on the red carpet at the BoxLunch Gala honoring Feeding America:
“I mean, we have to film the final season of Stranger Things, right? I have to be there in a couple of days. “We have to go, we’re late.”

When will the fifth season of Stranger Things premiere?
Most of the season will still need to be filmed in 2024, even if filming begins again this week. Due to the delays, a 2025 release date seems more likely. However, neither Netflix nor the writers of Stranger Things have confirmed a release date.
